Rep. Maxine Waters Cancels Event In Texas Due To Death Threat
Rep. Maxine Waters has canceled an event in Alabama and Texas this weekend due to death threats after making a call for public protest of President Trump’s administration over civility in politics.
CNN reports, the California Democrat said after President Trump criticized her on Twitter she has been receiving threatening messages and receiving hate mail at her office.
There was one very serious death threat made against me on Monday from an individual in Texas which is why my planned speaking engagements in Texas and Alabama were canceled this weekend.
The details of the Texas event are not made known, but authorities are looking into threats where people have promised “to shoot, lynch, or cause bodily harm."
Rep. Waters has received negative criticism from Republicans and Democrats in regards to her comments in which she encouraged individuals to publicly confront and harass members of Trump’s administration in public places.
