There is a restaurant that has decided to no longer allow kids under the age of 10 to dine in their establishment, and I don’t see a problem with it. As you would imagine this debate has gotten a lot of attention since the New Jersey restaurant (Nettie’s House of Spaghetti) first made the announcement online last week. I’m just curious if this same thing happened at an East Texas restaurant would it bother you?

Let me first start by saying that while I have lots of nieces and nephews, I don’t have any kids myself. Also having to do with this discussion, I have worked in food service before at a sit-down restaurant, so I understand what those workers go through. Before anything else, each restaurant owner and manager should be able to make and enforce any rule they want. If we don’t agree with their rules, it’s as simple as finding a new place to eat. It’s a really easy process to understand.

Why Did the Restaurant Decide to Ban Kids Under 10 Years Old?

The reason for the ban on kids in the Italian restaurant is because of the higher noise levels, lack of space for highchairs, cleaning up messes, and kids running around the restaurant. It also sounds like lots of customers were letting their kids run around the restaurant without any consequences, which should never be allowed.

What Do You Think About This Ban on Kids at an Italian Restaurant?

Do you think that the restaurant should be open to everyone, or do you understand why they would ban kids from dining there? I can remember picking up food from under the table after kids would throw their food down there many times. So, while I understand this could be frustrating for parents of young kids, they always have the option of ordering food to go.
