Six Flags Over Texas will be celebrating its 60th anniversary this year and to kick things off the park is hosting a special festival.

Now that Six Flags Over Texas is open year round, the park introduces the all new Fire and Ice Winter Festival to help kick off the parks 60th celebration. The event runs each weekend through February 28th. One of the special attractions of the Fire and Ice Winter Festival is that you can continue to slide down Frosty's Snowhill, an attraction that is usually limited to Six Flags Holiday In The Park. Plus, most of the parks usual rides will be open for you enjoy too. In addition, you can watch several shows that are being offered: Fire and Ice Light Show, Dancing Fountain Show, Mystic Acres Winter Wonderland are just a few.

Now you can't go to Six Flags without snacking on something. This new festival will also tempt your taste buds with loaded baked potatoes, specialty cocktail drinks from specially themed bars throughout the park as well as some frozen treats and heated up snacks from the oven.

The winter activities and attractions will be strategically placed within the park so that you can have fun you want. If you happen to go on Saturday night you'll also be treated to an awesome fireworks show that will be launched from the 300 foot Oil Derrick Tower!
