Minutes after President Joe Biden signed the $1.9 trillion Covid relief bill, White House press secretary Jen Psaki announced that some Americans will receive new coronavirus stimulus checks as soon as this weekend.

According to CNBC, first checks will go to Americans who gave direct deposit information when they filed their taxes.

“This is, of course, just the first wave,” Psaki noted, adding that “payments to eligible Americans will continue throughout the course of the next several weeks.”
