Study Reveals Wearing A Mask Cut Catching COVID-19 By 65 Percent
After reports of cases of COVID-19 spiking in the state of Texas and Governor Abbott issuing a statewide mandate to wear a mask, I want to send a friendly reminder of social distancing and wearing a mask to combat catching the virus.
Wearing a mask may be a inconvenience, but according to a new study, it could actually save your life.
The study from University of California Davis, indicates that scientists have found that wearing a mask forms a barrier against mist or droplets that a carrier would release when breathing or coughing, which could suppress the passing of COVID-19.
Dean Blumberg, the Chief of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at UC Davis Children's Hospital, said in a statement:
Everyone should wear a mask. People who say, ‘I don’t believe masks work,’ are ignoring scientific evidence. It’s not a belief system. It’s like saying, ‘I don’t believe in gravity.
Let's be smart and have consideration not only for ourselves, but for our family members and co-workers and wear a mask and practice social distancing in order to combat COVID-19.
WEAR YOUR MASK! Your life may depend on it...
