Every game is big in high school football, but this week will feature an especially big game that could impact the playoff situation in a few weeks. West Rusk travels to Harmony for a district matchup in a battle of two ranked teams.
There are a couple of East Texas teams in action Thursday, October 14th, but the bulk of our East Texas teams are playing Friday and Saturday. It's hard to believe, but most teams only have two or three games left in the regular season.
This just in...Carthage is good. After a big win over Gilmer last week, the Bulldogs have one more non-district game before launching into district play next week on the quest to defend the state title. And the Longview Lobos take a #6 ranking into an important game at home against Wylie East.
The Carthage Bulldogs are the defending state champs, and Gilmer was the team they beat to win the title. The rematch is set for Friday and Gilmer will be looking for revenge. This will be huge for both teams.
Several games have been canceled through the first three weeks of the high school football season, but this week's schedule is less interrupted. So far, only one game has been called off, and dozens are on! Tyler Legacy will kick off Week 4 tonight (Thursday) at Rose Stadium.
There are a handful of canceled games again this week, but most are still on. After Elysian Fields and Winona played a rare Thursday night game, everyone else is getting for another intense round under the Friday Night Lights.
