In Texas, the issue of prostitution and human trafficking is a growing problem, and massage parlors have become a significant front for these illicit activities.

We're going to take a look at 10 new laws that deal with crime in Texas that go into effect Sept. 1, 2023.

After a flight from Lubbock landed in Houston, the victim hid in bathrooms until her rescue.

The woman in the video has been identified as Lidia Elizabeth Badillo, a Mexican National who was living in Texas. Badillo wasn't alone, however.

Multiple arrests were made in Lubbock County following a multi-agency human trafficking operation.

Human Trafficking And Smuggling Continues To Be A Major Issue In Texas and The Texas Department Of Safety recently posted several wild videos to its YouTube page Of Recent Incidents Involving Smugglers.

"Regardless, it's an unfortunate reality that there are those, even right here in East Texas, that seek to prey on the most vulnerable among us."

According to Fire Chief Charles Hood, PBS reports people "were hot to the touch and dehydrated, and no water was found in the trailer."

Agencies are now providing "victim services and counseling to the recovered children and their families."

Not sure why we're seeing so much of this lately. But, every woman (and man) in East Texas needs to remain vigilant when it comes to personal safety.

While some believe its a start to reforming the way Texas handles prostitution and sex work cases, others believe it could lead to endless tie ups in the legal system.

Demecia Shontres Washington will learn her fate later this year after being found guilty of crimes against a child she and a man trafficked for sex work.
