A Texas teenager is behind bars after officers authorities caught him in a car outside of a high school event with a semi-automatic rifle and 100 rounds of ammunition.

KSAT reports that on Thursday Rowlett Police was patrolling the area around 9:30pm when they noticed a car with a single individual inside parked in a dark area.  Once the officers approached the teen identified as Diego Horta they inquired what he was doing.

The officer proceeds to look into the car only to find a loaded rifle and 100 rounds of ammunition.  Also retrieved from the car were illegal drugs, and illegal club, a Halloween mask, a loaded 9 mm rifle and 100 rounds of ammunition.

The young man as booked for possession of controlled substance and unlawful carry of a firearm and being held on $1,000,000 bond.  Officers also obtained a search warrant for his cellphone and an image containing child pornography.

The investigation is still ongoing.
