Sad news to pass along to you as we have learned that one of the unsung stars of stage and screen, remembered mostly for his work in the 80's has passed away.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Actor Charles Robinson, best known for his role as "Mac Robinson" on the long running NBC sitcom "Night Court" passed away at the age of 75. Robinson passed on Sunday from cardiac arrest with multisystem organ failures due to septic shock and metastatic adenocarcinoma.

Robinson was born in Houston in 1945 and started acting in the late 1960's after enrolling in a Houston based acting school. After being cast in a made for TV film, Robinson took off for Hollywood and would enjoy an award winning career that spanned over 50 years.

Robinson appeared in lots of TV shows, movies and theatre plays including "Love & War", "Buffalo Bill", "Home Improvement", "NCIS", "Set It Off", and "Antwone Fischer" among others but he's most widely recognized for his time as Mac Robinson, the straight forward no nonsense court clerk on Night Court which ran from 1984 to 1992.

Robinson is survived by his wife Dolorita, children Luca, Charlie, Christian, and Byron, grandchildren, great grandchildren, daughters-in-law, and dog, “Nala.” We send our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and fans.
