Texas Football Award Goes to Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty
(Tyler, TX) Boise State’s standout running back Ashton Jeanty has added another impressive accolade to his resume, earning a prestigious football award in Texas.
The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award solidifies Jeanty’s status as one of college football’s brightest talents and highlights his remarkable performance on the field this season.
Jeanty is the first Boise State player to receive the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award.
The award, known for honoring exceptional athletes with ties to Texas, celebrates Jeanty’s outstanding achievements both on and off the field. Selected from a pool of elite candidates, Jeanty’s skill, determination, and leadership set him apart from the competition.
Jeanty’s on-field accomplishments this season have been nothing short of extraordinary. Jeanty ran for 2,601 yards during the 2024 season, he finished his career at Boise State with a school record in rushing yards with 4,769 yards.
He is also only the fourth running back to win the award named after one of the all time great running backs in football history Earl Campbell.
Before making his mark at Boise State, Jeanty honed his skills in Texas, where he played high school football at Lone Star High School in Frisco. His early success set the stage for a college career filled with accolades and highlights.
Jeanty became the program's first unanimous All-American and is also the first Bronco to receive the Maxwell Award and the Doak Walker Award. Jeanty also earned All-Mountain West first-team honors and was the Mountain Wst Player of the Year for the second year.
What's Next For Jeanty?
After beating an impressive field that included Shadeur Sanders from Colorado and Cam Ward of Miami, Jeanty is expected to be a first round draft pick with some mock draft predictions forecasting him to land with the Dallas Cowboys at number 12 or as low as number 20 with the Denver Broncos.
