
Texas State Fair Looking for Help to Rebuild Big Tex
The State Fair of Texas is taking donations to help rebuild a Texas icon, Big Tex.The 52-foot-tall cowboy that has become a fair icon over the last 60 years burned this year after an electrical short.
Fair officials have promised to rebuild a new, better Big Tex complete with a fire-suppression system, but the price tag is a bit more than what they are getting from the insurance company. Big Tex was insured for about $200,000, but the cost of a new Tex will run between $450,000 to $600,000.
Because of this, the fair has launched a donation page to help raise the necessary funds. You can also mail in donations to:
