Three Things We Learned From The Isleys/EWF Verzuz
With all that being said, we did learn some things last night during the battle. Here's 3 of them:
- 1
Steve Harvey Has Apparently Done Everything To Their Music
Steve's job was to host the show and keep things moving but the audience online wasn't too pleased with his tales about growing up listening to both groups music. But as the night (and drinks) went on, everyone settled down and let Steve do his thing.

Deniece Williams' Classic "Free" Is A EWF Produced Hit
I learned that Deniece Williams classic hit "Free" was produced by the late great EWF founder Maurice White. He also sings background vocals on the track and Verdine on the bass.

They are working on an album together
During a break in the show, Ron Isley revealed that The Isleys and EWF are currently working on a new album that he said would be released this year. Can't wait to hear it!
- Bonus
Put Some Respeck On Ernie Isley Name
Can we put some respect on Ernie Isley's name as one of the greatest guitarists AND songwriters ever? I mean seriously, listen to his shredding on "That Lady", "Summer Breeze", "Voyage To Atlantis" and other songs to understand his genius. He also wrote "Voyage", "Fight The Power", "Footsteps In The Dark" and more! While Ron gets most of the love, don't forget about Ernie!
