Today is the Anniversary of the Coldest Temp. Recorded in Tyler

We’re still way above freezing here in Tyler… but Monday is the anniversary of the coldest temperature ever recorded in Tyler.

Back on December 23 of 1989… we dropped to -.8 degrees. Officially marked down as 0 degrees in climate stats. That’s cold. It’s way below the normal for this time of the year, which is 57 degrees for the high, and 38 degrees for the low.

But like we mentioned, there’s none of that in our future. The long range outlook from the Climate Prediction Center indicates we will likely see above normal temperatures through February and March.

With that being said, we have to keep in mind of what our normal are. The normal high in mid-January is the coldest for us, at 55 degrees. From there it climbs to 94 degrees by late July and early August. After that it starts to fall again as we head through fall and into winter.
