Seven days into the New Year a pair of criminals made the attempt to get over on the lottery by turning in a fake lottery ticket.

According to Fox 13, Odis Latham (47) and Russell Sparks (48) were trying to get rich quick by turning in a fake lottery scratch off with the prize amount of $100,000.

The pair used super glue to match the winning numbers and tried to turn it in on Monday (January 6th).

Lottery officials stalled the two until the police arrived and charged them both with conspiracy to commit and uttering counterfeit instrument over $1,000.

They are both behind bars and if convicted they face up to 20 years in prison along with a $50,000 fine.
