For once I get to spill the "tea" on something outside of Yasmin Young!

One of my goals for 2020 was to be more health conscience and find another option for coffee in the morning.

According to a new study from the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences I think I found my new go to drink.

From the study those who drink green tea between three or more times a week had longer and healthier lives from those who don’t drink tea at all or those who drink black tea.

From Fox News, drinking that much green tea was associated with a twenty percent lower risk of suffering from heart disease or stroke, and a twenty two percent lower risk from dying from either cause.

Now you’re probably thinking why is green tea better than black tea?

Senior author Dr. Dongfeng Gu of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences said in a statement

Green tea is rich in polyphenols, micronutrients that, protect against cardiovascular disease and its risk factors including high blood pressure and dyslipidemia.  Black tea, on the other hand, is fermented, during which process polyphenols are oxidized into pigments and may lose their antioxidant effects.

So before you start your day forming a new habit of drinking green tea and see if you notice the difference.

Cheers to health!
