When I was a kid the 4th of July was always one of my favorite holidays. I loved celebrating our independence with lots of food, friends, and fireworks. I have so many memories of our family getting together with others for a big party with lots of laughs and luckily, we never had anyone injure themselves as we all started lighting off fireworks. But it seems like there is a new growing trend of moving away from fireworks shows and instead using drones. What do you think about seeing a drone show on the 4th of July?

I’m on the fence on this one. I loved the traditional ways of celebrating the fourth of July and smelling the fireworks and bbq grills. But I also understand that switching to a drone show could be more cost efficient, it could reduce the trash that is left on the ground, and it could make it easier for those who struggle with PTSD and help make dogs more comfortable. I truly get both sides of this debate.

Fireworks Can Cause Damage

We have all heard of fires being started due to fireworks, or people who have lost fingers due to firework accidents. But we also know that danger is all around us, we can’t always live in fear.

Drones Mess Up Too

I recently heard of a drone show near the Boise area that didn’t go as planned and many people took to social media to show their disappointment. Which would not exactly be fun to deal with on the 4th of July. But I also understand, sometimes unfortunate things happen.

So, what do you think, stay with traditional fireworks or transition to a drone show on the 4th of July?
