Who else's bank gave you a debit/credit card that now has major problems w/the chip?

Stores are starting to refuse bad chip cards.

The other day, I was trying to buy some makeup at a large makeup retailer in town and when inserted my chip card in the machine, it told me my chip was not accepted. I kept inserting the card, thinking it would ultimately tell me to swipe after the third or fourth attempt. Instead, I was told by the cashier that their machine would not accept my card if the chip was broken and that I would have to pay with cash.

Two days later, I was at a gas station trying to fill up my tank, and the same thing happened with my chip card.

I was furious, livid, in fact! I marched into my bank the next day to complain to the bank manager and get a new card, but unfortunately for me, it was Friday, one of the busiest days of the week at a bank.

Since then, I have heard other people complaining about their chip cards, too. Thank goodness, it is not just me with the card issues.

Why did they make these freaking bank cards with a chip in it if the chips are that CHEAP!

Cheap chips!
