The vernal equinox arrived at around 10:49 p.m. on March 19. It's the earliest equinox we've had in many years. As you might imagine, due to the pandemic with which we're dealing, that feels extra strange, given that we're all being asked to stay in our homes right at the time when many start to become even more active outdoors and in our communities. Nature, itself, is waking up just as we are being asked to tuck away into another pseudo-winter.

Ironically, this is causing me to feel even more grateful that spring is here. Yes, we've had a few cloudy, chilly days on top of the self-isolating. But it is, in fact, spring.

The older I get, the more grateful I am for spring. It feels like a promise. No matter how dark and dreary life may feel at times, it promises that life does and will return. Nature reminds us that the light has returned and we will, in time, experience a revival of life--in nature, in our communities, and in ourselves.

Cautiously, we watch and do our very best to adhere to the guidelines in place to keep us safe and healthy. But please be encouraged: this, too, shall pass. We will get through this. Together.

Sending love to you. Happy Spring. Trust that life, warmth, and a sense of normalcy will return.
