I have said it a number of times that social media is a gift and a curse.

It is a gift because you can utilize it to connect with family and friends and the curse is because individuals who don't know how to use it properly can cause harm and even death.

Yesterday (May 2nd) Facebook has decided to ban high profile accounts like Nation of Islam leader The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, Infowars publisher Alex Jones and political commentator Milo Yiannopoulous for violating rules for being "dangerous individuals and organizations."

According to the Grio, Facebook has released a statement about their decision saying,

We’ve always banned individuals or organizations that promote or engage in violence and hate, regardless of ideology. The process for evaluating potential violators is extensive and it is what led us to our decision to remove these accounts today.

I can understand Facebook for protecting their social media platform, but at the same time they leave me scratching my head.

You ban these individuals immediately, but when I do a search of other organizations and individuals who spread hatred on so many levels their profile are still active.

As for me, Minister Farrakhan is a man who is full of love and speaks truth about black pride and living in harmony with one another.

Chuck D from Public Enemy said it best on their single "Don't Believe The Hype"

Don't tell me that you understand.  Until you hear the man...

Snoop Dogg was very vocal when he got the news about Farrakhan being banned from Facebook.

At the end of the day if Facebook is looking real suspect for their actions especially where other individuals are violating their policies on the regular whether in post or live stream and trust me we have all seen some foolishness on Facebook.

Personally, I have met Minister Farrakhan and he is an amazing individual with plenty of knowledge.

Trust me you can silence the Minister, but you can't silence his followers and that could go for the followers of Alex Jones and Milo Yiannopoulos.

In the meantime let me see if I can remember my Black Planet log in and password
