Active Shooter Preparedness Class Taking Place In Tyler
In 2019 alone there has been 283 mass shootings in the United States per CBS news.
Do you know what to do if you were involved in an active shooting at your job or grocery store?
With the recent shootings that took place in Midland, Texas, Dayton Ohio, and El Paso Texas it leaves us wondering how to respond if a mass shooting was to occur here in East Texas.
With the recent shooting that took place at an East Texas concert in Dekalb, Texas the Better Business Bureau Serving East Texas along with the Tyler Police Department is hosting a LLC - Active Shooter Training to prepare East Texans on what to do if an event was to occur.
The training will take place on Monday (October 7) at the Tyler Junior College School of Continuing Studies at West Campus located at 1530 SSW Loop 323 from 11am - 1pm.
Officer Chuck Boyce from the Tyler PD will be on site to give instruction on what to do and have safety precautions in place such an incident was to happen.
You actually have a better chance of winning the lottery than being involved in an active shooter situation, but you still need to be prepared just in case.
The event will be held in room 104 and for registration information click here.
