Jordan Peele will see his vengeance drama series at Amazon Studios after the company sealed its acquisition of the Oscar winner's future project this week.

According to Deadline, Amazon Studios has won the rights to Peele's retribution-induced Nazi-searching series The Hunt, which the writer-director will executive produce.

Indicated in the report, issued Thursday (May 17), the hot-button drama earned a 10-episode straight-to-series order and will manifest Peele's original vision of a mixed group of Nazi Hunters in their pursuit of the hundreds of closeted, high-ranking Nazis living among them. Set in 1970s New York City, The Hunt chronicles the vigilantes on their blood-soaked quest to hinder the Nazis' genocidal plot.

The 39-year-old's Monkeypaw Productions and Sonar Entertainment will produce the project, with David Weil to write and executive produce alongside Peele.

“Our biggest priority is attracting exceptional writing and producing talent to bring addictive, groundbreaking projects to Prime Video,” Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke commented on the gory series. “The Hunt is edge-of-your seat entertainment that is not only culturally relevant but deliciously original. David Weil, Jordan Peele, and the entire Monkeypaw and Sonar Entertainment teams represent the dream team! We can’t wait to get started!”

“When David Weil first shared The Hunt with me, I immediately knew that we had to be involved,” Peele spoke of his commitment with Weil on the fiery undertaking. “It’s cathartic. It’s noir. It’s frighteningly relevant. It’s exactly what I want to see on television. I am thrilled to be working with Amazon in bringing this incredible vision to the world.”

Earlier this month, Peele announced his follow-up to 2017's blockbuster Get Out, for which the helmer earned a best original screenplay Oscar this March, would be a social-horror thriller called Us. It is expected to release on March 15, 2019.
