Tomorrow  is Stamp Out Hunger, the National Association of Letter Carriers annual food drive benefiting food banks across the nation.

This is their 26th year to conduct the nation's largest one-day food drive.

Within the last two years, a record total 155 million pounds of food was collected and distributed to food banks, whose pantries tend to be at a critical point at this time of year.

According to the Tyler Paper, 32,000 pounds were collected in East Texas alone.

“Stamp Out Hunger is one of our most important public food drives and is a great way to support our community,” said Dennis Cullinane, CEO of the East Texas Food Bank in a news release Monday. “We are so grateful for the extra time and effort that our letter carriers give towards this cause, so let’s remember to leave a bag of non-perishable food by your mailbox and help them maximize their gift.”

Just place a bag of non perishable food next to your mailbox and your mail carrier will pick it up to be donated to the East Texas Food Bank.
