Family Ties – George H.W. Bush’s Grandson Runs For Texas Congress
When it comes to families who are known for politics the Bush family is definitely in the conversation as another member is throwing their name in the political ring.
The 33-year-old made the announcement of his first political run on Monday (December 9th), saying he will be going for the seat of GOP Rep. Pete Olson who is retiring in a suburban Houston district which is getting a bit crowded.
Bush made the announcement via video on the deadline for candidates in Texas to get on the ballot for 2020. He currently has been chief executive of the nonprofit Big Brothers Big Sisters in Texas for the past three years.
With name recognition we will see if Pierce has what it takes to keep the family legacy going. The only other Bush family member holding public office is George P. Bush who is the Texas Land Commissioner. He the son of former Florida Governor Jeb Bush.
