Happy National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day

Calling all Chocolate Chip Cookie lovers!  Today is a special day because today is National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day.  Not to be confused with National Cookie Day which is in December nevertheless, just like other favorite cookies that have a special day like oatmeal, peanut butter, and sugar cookies this day is set aside to pay homage to a household favorite.

Statistics from Statista.com say Nabisco’s Chips Ahoy! Chocolate chip cookies have reached $619.4 million in sales in 2017 so far. The only cookie that’s doing better is Oreo’s which reached $674.2 million.

Chips Ahoy! was launched back in 1963, which became the first brand of pre-made chocolate chip cookies available nationwide.  Years later Nabisco introduced a variety of Chips Ahoy! flavors including White Fudge Chewy, Peanut Butter Chunky, Chunky Chips Ahoy!, Pecan and even Candy Blast Chips Ahoy!
