From CBS 19 around 7:30 pm authorities said a man ran out of Walmart and jumped into a car and drove away.  A representative from the Salvation confirmed the kettle was stolen from members of St. James CME Church said the man nearly missed one of the volunteers while they were ringing the bell.

Rev. Orenthia Mason of St. James CME Church and other members of Mount Nevelton Church in Bullard were standing in the rain all day collecting donation.  While nobody was hurt during the altercation she was very upset that someone could have such evil in their heart during this time of year.

I’m very upset but one man with evil in his heart will not deter us from helping to make a difference.  I’ve done it every year and will continue to do so. It’s a joy to give.

From our media partner KLTV the suspect is an African-American male wearing a blue hoodie.  If anyone has any information are asked to notify the Tyler Police Department
