Hollywood Is Calling For Roughnecks To Try Out For New Taylor Sheridan Show and Texas is Here for It!

My husband's family is third generation oil field, and I love how proud he is telling the stories about his very dedicated grandfather who started his family business from scratch after WW2.

He is honored to carry on the family tradition and has worked on every floor of his family's rigs; from derricks to drill he has learned from the very best in Texas.

Some of our dearest friends are roughnecks.

The Roughneck Story is highlighted in the Bullock Museum in Austin. Next time you're in Austin, check it out. You'll have a better appreciation of why the men on these rigs were called "rough" necks.

The work is grueling, especially in the summers, but very rewarding too.

That being said, you'll understand why it brings me so much joy to say that Hollywood is looking to cast real-life roughnecks to highlight the life and times of Texas roughnecks.

Land Man Looking for Texas Roughnecks

Taylor Sheridan, who is the genius behind Yellowstone, is casting for his latest drama, "Land Man” and wants to use real roughnecks in the show.

Deadline Sr. Editor, Denise Petski offers, "Land Man is a modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs. The series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, that it's reshaping our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics."

The show, which stars Billy Bob Thornton, is based on Texas Monthly’s podcast “Boomtown."
