Lifetime To Premier A Movie And Docu-Series On R. Kelly
R. Kelly has been on a rollercoaster ride for the past few weeks from allegations of giving a Dallas woman a STD, to having his music pulled from Apple Music and Spotify, and the #MuteRKelly campaign. Now a movie and investigative doc-series is in the works by Lifetime.
From E! Online, the network announced the doc as part of its relaunch of its “Stop Violence Against Women” campaign. The network has approved a documentary series and a feature movie that will look deeper into the R&B singer, who has a history of involvement with underage African American women.
Lifetime in a statement described the docu-series as:
A captivating investigation into the controversial superstar, R. Kelly. Celebrated as one of the greatest R&B singers of all time, his genre defining career and playboy lifestyle has been riddled with rumors of abuse, predatory behavior, and pedophilia.
Survivors, and even people in R. Kelly’s inner circle will be coming forward with new allegations about his alleged behavior. Lifetime has originally launched their Stop Violence Against Women campaign in 2002 to place a national spotlight on domestic violence and sexual assault.
R. Kelly has denied all allegations.
