Netflix is back again with another great comedy series that displays #BlackFamilyMagic in  "Family Reunion."

The series stars Hollywood icons Richard Roundtree (Shaft, Being Mary Jane), and Houston native Loretta Devine (Different World, Grey's Anatomy, The Carmichael Show)  who checks into the Shawn Knight Show to talk about the series.

Family Reunion is about the McKellan family who moves from Seattle to Columbus, Georgia to be closer to their extended family which turns into a culture shock and I can relate because I used to live in Columbus before moving to Texas.

Devine's character is "M'Dear" who is the Matriarch of the McKellan family who tries to find a balance of "Old School Values" to "New School Parenting."

We talked about how the series will touch on all of life's ups and downs from 3 hour church services, huge humidity and M'Dear's home cooking and family bonding.

Devine also talk about how her "Old school values" comes to life in her character as everybody played a major part with the writing about how things were presented and the message.

The shows creator Meg DeLoatch who is no stranger to television as Executive Producer of "Eve", and Co-Executive Producer of "Fuller House" is doing something special with all black writers, cast, and crew to effectively tell our stories from our point of view.

Other cast members include: Tia Mowry-Hardrict (The Game, Sister Sister), Texas native Anthony Alabi who played for the Miami Dolphins, Talia Jackson, Jordyn Raya James, Isaiah Russell-Bailey, Cameron J. Wright,

Check out the 10 episodes of "Family Reunion" now on Netflix!
