Mississippi School Named After Confederate Leader Renamed To Barack Obama
Former U.S. President Barack Obama is making headlines by being named after a Mississippi school that’s named after the Confederacy’s only president Jefferson Davis for next year’s academic school year.
From Fox 29 San Antonio, The PTA president made the announcement of the planned name change at a school board meeting on Tuesday. The school who’s population of 98% African-American that are enrolled in the school was proposed by the parents and approved by many of the staff members, faculty, and students.
From Fox News the school is near the state Capital building, where most of its students were born during the years Obama was president, back in 2009.
