The world's tallest wooden roller coaster, at one time, belonged in Arlington. In the future, that designation will reside in San Antonio at SeaWorld. The Texas Stingray is set to open next Spring according to khou.com. Looks like me and my colleague, Lucky Larry, have another roller coaster preview to try to be a part of.

This coaster has some serious stats, too.

  • Ride will last two minutes
  • Top speed of 55 mph
  • First drop is 100 feet
  • Ride has a total length of 3,379 feet
  • Ride includes a 100 foot tunnel

The Texas Stingray will join the other rides at SeaWorld San Antonio, Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster, Great White, Steel Eel and Super Grover's Box Car Derby. The Texas Stingray will be set across from a new turtle exhibit between Orca Stadium and Rio Loco ride.

Check out the above CGI video of the ride above and add SeaWorld San Antonio to your next Summer vacation stop.
