41,000 Lbs. of Chicken Donated to Longview, Texas Rescue Mission
It seems like everyone you talk to right now is stressing about money and the cost of everything that seems to be on the rise right now. Whether it’s gasoline, groceries, or rent the inflation is hurting everyone which means there are more people that are leaning on organizations such as the Longview rescue mission for food. Which is why it was such amazing news to hear that Tyson Foods made a huge donation to help people in East Texas.
We found out about this extremely generous donation after they posted about it on their Facebook page, and the donation couldn’t have come at a better time. Last month due to a malfunctioning freezer there was a lot of food that had to be thrown away due for safety reasons. That was a tough obstacle to overcome seeing as how they provide over 500 meals daily.
The Donation Was Much Larger Than Expected
The mission director at the rescue mission heard about a donation coming in and was excited for the possibility of one pallet but never expected 41,000 lbs of chicken to be donated. That large donation is so helpful and the entire staff is very appreciative of Tyson Foods for making such an impact.
Hiway 80 Rescue Mission Will Be Serving Lots of Chicken
Chicken spaghetti, chicken and dumplings, chicken noodle soup, chicken nuggets, and other chicken meals will be served up soon. But for the homeless and needy people that depend on Hiway 80 rescue mission they aren’t so worried about what kind of food they are just grateful for the donation.
