Barack And Michelle Obama Are Bringing Their Talents To Netflix

Former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle are joining Netflix!

The former Commander In Chief and his wife have inked a production deal with the streaming company for a multi-year agreement to produce films, scripted series, documentaries, docu-series, and features.

Cinema Blend caught up with Obama to get his thoughts on why he’s jumping from politics to entertainment.

We want to tell stories. This [Netflix deal] becomes a platform. We are interested in lifting people up and identifying people doing amazing work. We did this in the White House. For instance, the very first time Lin-Manuel Miranda performed the first song in Hamilton was at the White House at a poetry slam we did.

This deal will give the former first couple a platform that reaches 118 million subscribers from around the world and their focus will be on stories of inspiration.
