Khalid is seriously crushing the year by singing in Spanish with J Balvin, releasing a new album, and making history yet again.

The ongoing pandemic may have canceled tours and events worldwide, but that hasn't prevented artists like Khalid from creating their craft and interacting with fans.

Khalid

Since last year, Khalid has been making personal and professional strides. From going vegan to winning 5 Grammy's, El Paso's #1 Ambassador manifests good vibes everywhere he goes.

As a matter of fact, this time last year, Khalid was named the youngest artist to surpass 15 billion streams on Spotify. The year after that, he was the most listened to musician via the streaming platform, with over 50 million listeners monthly.  And before that, Khalid made Billboard’s Top Artists of the 2010s, coming in at number 33.

Fast forward a year, and he's back at it again. A few weeks ago, he took part in Matthew McConaughey's We're Texas Benefit concert, and over the past week, he's made history, dropped a new single with J Balvin, and is getting ready to release a new album.

Making History:

Once again, Khalid is making history and putting another one on the books to become the youngest artist to sell 74.5 million RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) certified units in the United States. New Album:

Amazon

It's been two years to the day since Khalid released his last sophomore studio album Free Spirit. But then, earlier this year, when he won 5 out of his 12 Grammy nominations, he teased his fans by posting on social media that he was working on a new album.

Making good on that promise, Khalid has been busy behind the scenes recording new music and teasing a new album very soon. He's also been very active in collaboration with various artists such as Alicia Keys, Alina Baraz, and most recently, a new bi-lingual track with J Balvin.

J Balvin Collab:

I know I wasn't the only fan in El Paso who screamed when hearing Khalid singing En Español in the new track Otra Noche Sin Ti featuring J Balvin. Mid-week, Khalid had teased a collab with the Colombian reggaeton singer and released the highly anticipated track on Thursday. The video to the hypnotic ballad is also out, and it features both Khalid and J Balvin dressed to the 9's in swanky digs.

It's been five short years since Khalid came on to the music scene out of El Paso, so as an El Pasoan, it's pretty extraordinary to get to see his star continue to rise and shine.

Congratulations to Khalid on his continued success; El Paso Loves You!
