In the late 90s and early 2000s, R&B singer Kelly Price was one of the biggest stars in music with a string of hit records and albums with her amazing voice which earned her nine Grammy nominations and platinum plaques.

But during and after that time of success, Price also dealt with unbelievable tragedy. A bad marriage with her manager husband who also may have sabotaged her rising career ended in divorce in 2015 just months after the death of her sister. But things didn't get any better despite Price's attempts to make a comeback.

Her grandfather passed away last year to COVID-19 and the sudden death of her mother 6 months later sent Price into a dark space that left her not dropping any music at all and effectively disappearing from the public's eye.

With so many problems to deal with, Price turned to her faith in God and now her life and career are getting back on track with her return to music with a Gospel EP titled "Grace", named for and dedicated to her sister Grace, which is out right now and features 6 songs.

"Grace" is Price's first Gospel album since 2006 and her voice is just as powerful as ever.

She stopped by the Rickey Smiley Morning Show recently to talk about all her struggles and shared details about an upcoming appearance on the BET series "American Soul".
