Thanksgiving dinner! It's time to whip up mashed potatoes, deep fry or bake a turkey (or ham) and don't forget those yummy dinner rolls.

Our eastern neighbor, the state of Lousiana, serves Shrimp-Stuffed Mirliton as its top Thanksgiving food, according to a ridiculous online survey taken from the Food Network. Now, I have never been to a Cajun Thanksgiving, but I'm sure most people ain't serving shrimp-stuffed Mirliton. (Well, to be honest, I don't even know what Mirliton even is, so my bad if they do!)

Food Network also wants us to believe that one of our other neighbor states, Arkansas, claims "Turkey Spaghetti" as their traditional favorite food for Thanksgiving. Don't even get me started on what they said people in Oklahoma love the most (Sopapilla Cheesecake). Tell that to my brother and sister-in-law who live in Muskogee. They would laugh you right out of their living room if you asked if they'll be serving Sopapilla Cheesecake for Thanksgiving. (They might even ask you to go home.)

Brace yourself for what the Food Network survey says Texans overwhelmingly choose as their Thanksgiving food favorite. Are you ready for this? "Turkey Tortilla Soup".

WHAT?!

There is no way this is the favorite Thanksgiving food in the state of Texas. This is preposterous.

I don't know who these people are who filled out that online survey, but turkey tortilla soup is definitely not the top of my favorite Thanksgiving food list. My family doesn't even eat turkey tortilla soup to begin with (we prefer to use shredded chicken instead of turkey), and we surely don't eat it at Thanksgiving dinner.

My favorite Thanksgiving food is mac and cheese, but that's because I was born and raised in Tennessee and my sweet great-grandmother Janie Pearl (RIP) served it at every holiday meal, including Thanksgiving. My Aunt Niecey also whipped up some of the best mac and cheese you've ever tried, too, rest her soul.

What is your favorite Thanksgiving Food? (I'm going out on a limb to guess that it isn't Turkey Tortilla Soup.)
