The 2 Black Men Arrested In A Philadelphia Starbucks Settle With The City For $1 Each

The two black men who were arrested at a Philadelphia Starbucks last month have settled with the city on Wednesday (May 2^nd).

NBC reports, the men have reached a deal of $1 each and a $200,000 program for young entrepreneurs.  Per the deal the city, the men’s arrest records will be expunged and a program will be created to offer counseling and mentoring to entrepreneurs from Philadelphia.

Donte Robinson said:

We thought long and hard about it, and we feel like this is the best way to see that change that we want to see. It's not a right-now thing that's good for right now, but I feel like we will see the true change over time.

The Mayor of Philadelphia Jim Kenney was pleased the resolution was done in a productive manner.  The incident put a lot of pain in the city and in the national spotlight for unwanted reasons.

Starbucks will close more than 8,000 stores to train nearly 175,000 employees on racial bias education.
