Today We Celebrate The 5th Day Of Kwanzaa – NIA
We are two days away from 2020 and today (December 30th) we are celebrating the fifth day of Kwanzaa.
For the past 4 days we have been paying homage to our families, community and culture built around the Nguzo Saba (The seven Principles) according to their official website.
- Umoja – Unity
- Kujichagulia – Self Determination
- Ujima – Collective Work and Responsibility
- Ujamaa – Cooperative Economics
- Nia – Purpose
- Kuumba – Creativity
- Imani - Faith
Here is the fifth principal of Kwanzaa: NIA which stands for PURPOSE
We light the green candle for NIA which symbolizes commitment for the collective vocation of building, developing and defending our national community, the history in order to regain our historical initiative and greatness as a people.
Join the Tyler Public Library for their annual Kwanzaa celebration starting at 6 p.m.
