Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey sent a tweet out indicating that his company will recognize 'Juneteenth' as a company holiday .

From his personal Twitter account he was quoted that day will be recognized for "celebration, education and connection."

If you need a brief history lesson on Juneteenth it celebrates the date of June 19th 1865, when the Union soldiers freed the slaves in Galveston, Texas more than two years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation, and told them the Civil War ended.
